SCHOOL'S OPEN: Please drive safely

Slow down and pay attention while driving near schools. Make sure your child is safely secured with a seat belt, car seat, or booster seat; yield to pedestrians when entering the school driveway. Walk young children to school to familiarize them with the route and to point out possible traffic hazards; do not jaywalk across busy streets with your child in tow. Talk to your child about crossing the street at corners and in crosswalks, where drivers can see them. Tell them to be sure to stop their bikes at street corners and stop signs. Let's work together to keep our children safe and injury-free while walking and driving them to school.

New Student Orientation

All new students and parents are invited to join David Jones, Principal of Carmel Del Mar School, at 10:00 a.m. for a tour of our school. Please meet Mr. Jones in the front of the school by the flagpoles.

Kindergarten Orientation

All kindergarten students and parents are invited to attend Kindergarten Open House at 11:00 a.m. in the kindergarten classrooms. You will see your classroom, meet your teacher and other students in your class.

DISTRICT-WIDE JUNIOR OLYMPICS COMPETITION

CDM to host DMUSD Junior Olympics District-Wide Competition on May 22nd, 10am - 12pm. All 1st place winners from each DMUSD school's local event will compete against each other to determine gold, silver, and bronze medalists for each of the four Junior Olympic events (soccer, track and field, tennis, and basketball). Come support all the athletes as they give their best effort.

6th GRADE CAMP @ Camp Cuyamaca - October 4-8
This 5-day camp program is part of our regular school offering. Our 6th grade teachers will accompany the students, and outdoor education program specialists are at the camp on a regular basis.
