Congratulations Rose!
Carmel Del Mar's Special Day Classroom Aide, Rose Graves, will be honored with the Excellence in Special Education Award at the 2008 North County Consortium for Special Education (NCCSE) award ceremony held on June 2nd. Nominations are received from the 14 member school districts within NCCSE, and recipients are chosen anonymously based on how strongly they meet the award criteria. Rose is an exemplary educator who is very deserving of this fine award. Congratulations Rose!

There is a growing divide between what kids and parents know about technology and its many uses. Children ages 8-18 spend an average of 44.5 hours per week consuming media (watching t.v., playing video games, IMing, listening to music). The Internet and other technology are incredible resources, but risks such as cyberbullying is growing.

BLUES MUSIC & ART NIGHT

Get your mojo working and support the arts with live music, rare concert footage and fantastic folk art by Carmel Del Mar School fifth grade artists.
Students artists captured the spirit of musical performances with acrylic paint on a variety of surfaces and created eclectic frames after viewing art from the House Of Blues folk art collection.
Check out the art and watch the The American Folk Blues Festival dvd on a large screen featuring legendary performances by Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, and many more.
The film will be followed by a live blues music concert from The Men In Black & Blue, comprised of members of the Eve Selis Band.
