Construction begins on child care facility

Construction of the child care facility for Ocean Air School began on June 18 and is progressing ahead of schedule. This facility being constructed by Barnhart, Balfour, Beatty, will be completed and ready to occupy for the start of the 2010/2011 school year. Construction crews are working six days a week to complete the aggressive building schedule. The move-in date has been moved up to August 18th!  (To view more pictures click here.)

NCCSE honors Linda Hagerty and Analisa Mendiola

Congratulations to Linda Hagerty and Analisa Mendiola for receiving the 2010 Excellence in Special Education Award from the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education (NCCSE) Community Advisory Committee (CAC).  We are very proud of both Linda, who received her award in the category of Administrator, and Analisa, who received her award in the category of Special Education Support.  Linda and Analisa were selected anonymously from nominations received from throughout the 14 NCCSE member school districts.  We congratulate Linda and Analisa on being recognized for their hard work and dedication to students, staff and families.

                                       

Congratulations to all Del Mar Science Field Day participants!

San Diego County Science Field Day is a program designed, organized and administrated by elementary teachers from throughout San Diego County. Students in grades 4 through 6 practice and compete in science related events. In the spring, students come together in one location and compete in these events.  On Saturday, May 15th, over 100 students in schools around the District participated in the San Diego County Science Field Day.  These students, coached by the science lab teachers and by parent and student volunteers, took home many medals and ribbons from the competition.  Congratulations, Science Field Day participants!
