Registration for New Students
New student registration through August 27, 2010 is taking place at the Del Mar Union School District Office at 225 9th Street, Del Mar, CA 92014, Monday - Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon. For more information, please refer to the links provided below.
The District is proud of the eight school campuses and the outstanding learning that takes place at each one. For the past several years we have experienced rapid growth in the district. Especially true in the fast-growing Carmel Valley area, it has not always been possible to place children in their neighborhood school. With the opening of Ocean Air School in August 2007, we are hopeful that everyone will have an opportunity to attend their neighborhood school. To be eligible for enrollment in Del Mar schools, students must reside within the boundaries of the Del Mar School District. DMUSD Boundary Maps can be found here.
School Locator Information - School Locator
The Del Mar Union School District School Locator is published for your convenience. It is a quick reference guide to MOST of the streets included in the district's attendance area. Enter your complete address, city and zip code and click go. If the house icon appears on the map in the proper location, click the left hand box below the map. Click the box on the right, if you would like to plot the house icon in a more accurate location. Only the elementary school within your attendance area will be listed.
Please note: Every effort is made to place students at the school in their attendance area, however, due to the explosive growth within DMUSD in the last several years and the District’s commitment to maintain balanced, low class sizes at all school sites, we must inform you that students are placed at a school on a space available basis.

Kindergarten Registration
When registering students, parents will be asked to complete a registration packet and provide proof of residence, proof of student immunization and (when enrolling for Kindergarten or Grade 1) proof of the student's age. In addition, the DMUSD complies with state-mandated health requirements for school entry. For a complete list of required health documentation for registration, see Health Requirements . To be eligible for enrollment students must be 5 by December 2 of the current year and must currently be residing in the Del Mar School District. Families in the process of moving to the school district may register their students once their residency in the DMUSD is established.
Prior to Kindergarten registration in the Spring, schools invite potential kindergarten parents (adults only) to Kindergarten Visitation to give parents an opportunity to observe the school program, pick up registration materials, meet the principal, and ask any questions they may have. Please Note: Students currently in attendance in Del Mar schools are automatically registered for the upcoming school year, unless the school office is notified that the family is moving.
