Principal's Letter

Dear Ashley Falls Families:
 
This past year at Ashley Falls School has been one of excellence.  As the year draws to a close I would like to take the opportunity to express my sincere thanks to the students, staff and parents here at Ashley Falls.  Everyone has worked together to build pride in our school and its accomplishments.  Appreciation must be expressed to those who have helped to make it happen. 
 
A special thank you to our outstanding PTA.  The PTA Board consists of hardworking, positive, supportive and extremely capable members who always gave so willingly of their time, talents and energy whenever and wherever they were needed.  Whether it's organizing the carnival, counting the Reading Incentive program pages, or the jog-a-thon, our PTA is always there to help.  Parents have been so supportive of our fundraising efforts and your contributions have been greatly appreciated.
 
A special thank you to the School Site Council members for their involvement and leadership in monitoring and evaluating our School Plan and budget.  The support and appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the Ashley Falls staff is greatly appreciated.  The partnership between staff and parents is always evident at our School Site Council meetings where ideas are shared and discussed and parents are able to see beyond the needs of their own child and work towards meeting the needs of all children at Ashley Falls School.
 
A special thank you to our many Parent Volunteers.  Parents who volunteer are a valuable and important component of the success of our school programs.  We need and greatly appreciate the thousands of hours donated each year in our classrooms.  Parent volunteers are reflective of the excellent partnership between home and school that enhances and enriches the educational opportunities for our young people.
 
A special thank you to all the excellent teachers and support staff who have worked tirelessly to provide a productive and positive learning climate where opportunities for quality instruction, creativity and academic achievement for each student was accomplished.  They are among the best teachers the profession has to offer and we are fortunate to have them at Ashley Falls School!
 
A special thank you to our wonderful, supportive parents.  We greatly appreciate your unwavering support and involvement in your children's education.  The Home/School Partnership is a key ingredient to the success of Ashley Falls School.  As a staff, we sense your caring, concern and interest in what's best for the children at Ashley Falls.  This kind of mutual support can only help but to enhance and enrich the educational program for your children.  
 
And finally, thank you to our students, who have worked hard and demonstrated wonderful progress in all areas.  They have continued to amaze us with their skills, creativity, and performance.  Students have willingly served their school and demonstrated kindness, respect and consideration for each other.  We are privileged to be able to work with such wonderful children.
 
All of the above people make up the community of Ashley Falls School.  They are the ingredients that make Ashley Falls such a special place. I am looking forward to next year and all that it will bring.  I am confident that we will continue to grow and expand our abilities to provide the highest quality education for your children.  It is our goal to continue to work with you, as parents and community members, so we can help children be successful and reach their highest potential.

Young Writers' Camp

The San Marcos Writing project invites students entering grades two through eight to participate in a workshop led by Writing Project teachers.  Registration fees include a notebook, writing materials, t-shirt and all supplies necessary for the workshop.  Please join us for an exciting two weeks of writing, talking and reading.
