Principal's Message - August 11, 2008

Welcome to the beginning of another new school year at Ocean Air School on Monday, August 25, 2008! We are so excited to share this wonderful facility with our students, parents, staff, and community. Here are some important dates and information as we gear up for the first week of school. The "old path" is gone…Directions to school!

If you walk or ride bikes/scooters to school from neighborhoods south and west of the school (those of you who used the old path off Nantucket Parkway last year), please follow these directions for the new year:

Use the access gate on East Ocean Air to enter onto Yearling Glen Road. Follow Yearling Glen Road to Cadence Grove Way, and go left. Follow Cadence Grove Way to Arabian Crest Road, and go left. When you reach the corner of Arabian Crest Road and Canter Heights Drive, please follow the arrow signs and cross Canter Heights Drive at the crosswalk. DO NOT walk or ride through the school parking lot at any time. After you have crossed Canter Heights Drive, you must then walk your bike or scooter in front of the school and over to the bike racks. Please be considerate of our neighbor’s yards on your way to school! And use caution when riding through neighborhoods. We want all children to arrive safe and sound to school each day. THANK YOU!

For Our Ocean Air Parents Who Drive Their Children to School

We need your help with the drop-off process to ensure the safety of your children and to expedite the drop-off process for all involved.

When dropping-off in front of the school, please stay in the right-hand lane and pull forward as far as possible. Even if your child has to walk a bit further to class, we really need you to pull forward (but stay in the right lane) and not block the process by stopping too soon. Read more...

All new students and parents are invited to join our Principal, Gary Wilson, at 10:00am for a tour of the school. Please meet near the school office.

All Kindergarten students and parents are invited to attend Kindergarten Open House from 11:00am-12:00pm. You will see your classroom, and meet your teacher and other students in your class!
