A Message from Emily Morris to the Sycamore Ridge Stallion Community

Dear Parents and Students of Sycamore Ridge:

I want to start by telling you how excited I am to be your Principal, and how much I am looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!

Please be aware and reminded that supervision on our playground does not begin before 7:45 in the morning. All students will enter our campus by going through the north gate near the childcare building. Your teacher will greet you each morning at the exterior door of your classroom when the bell rings at 8:00. Please be reminded that every Wednesday, we are on a modified day schedule. All students in K-6 grade will be dismissed at 12:30.

For parents that will use our valet service during the morning and afternoon drop off times, please access our Valet Service guidelines on the school homepage. A safe and orderly drop off/pick up can only happen with everyone’s help and cooperation.

Our staff and PTA Board are looking forward to your involvement. There are plenty of opportunities for your participation in the educational experience at Sycamore Ridge. Please stay closely connected to our website for current events, and navigate to the PTA link to get involved with PTA programs.

Every new school year begins with the excitement of seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones! I am pleased to introduce our new staff members: Mrs. Jennifer Fletcher, joining us in kindergarten, Kristin Bonaguidi in first grade, Heather Kowieski (A.K.A. Sullivan) is back at second grade and Ms. Sam Ung has joined our ESC team, teaching science.

We know that students who feel safe, connected and engaged in school are more likely to learn well. To this end, all staff and students will work together to be Peacebuilders. Parents, please continue throughout the year to talk to your child about the importance of being a strong learner and positive citizen. I encourage you to have conversations with your child about what it means to be a Peacebuilder and how they can demonstrate Peacebuilding behavior at school and home.

We look forward to partnering with you to create the best educational experience possible for all of our Stallion students.

All the best for a fabulous year ahead!

Emily Morris
