  • Sycamore Ridge Read-a-thon! - December 4th - 11th

    Mark your calendars for our first Sycamore Ridge Read-a-thon! During this week, Launch and In Person families throughout our district will be encouraging our kids to read! Reading in school and at home all count towards earning rewards for the entire school such as extra recess, otter pops and a big surprise featuring Principal Chelsea Moore! In case your child needs extra books to read, we are also hosting our live and virtual Barnes & Noble bookfair during this same week. Themed daily events for both Launch and In-person students include:

  • Sycamore Ridge Annual Book Fair - December 6-11, 2020

    Mark your calendars for our Annual Book Fair, taking place in-store at Barnes and Noble Encinitas (December 6) and on-line at barnesandnoble.com (December 7-11). We have made it easier than ever to conveniently shop for items AND support our school’s library. A percentage of your purchase will go to our library to purchase new books and support library programs.

  • English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) Information Meeting - December 10th

    English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a school-level committee of parents, staff, and community members designated to provide feedback to our school on English learner programs and services. Schools are required to establish an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) when there are 21 or more English Learners. To learn more about Sycamore Ridge’s ELAC Committee, please join Mrs. Moore on Thursday, December 10th at 2:00pm via ZOOM. By working together, parents and educators can ensure a quality learning environment for all students.

    Presented by Dr. Lauren Gist Developmental Pediatrician Rady Children’s Hospital Dr. Lauren Gist is a board-certified pediatrician who specializes in developmental- behavioral pediatrics. Developmental-behavioral pediatricians work with families to evaluate, treat and coordinate care for children with developmental delays, behavioral issues, learning difficulties or mental health concerns.

    Dr. LaRose announced she is retiring from education on June 30, 2020, after a remarkable career that has positively impacted thousands of children, family members, and colleagues.
