Kristin and her family have lived in Carmel Valley since 2005.
Kristin attended public schools in Connecticut and New Jersey. She graduated from Wake Forest University with a BA in Art. She holds a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development emphasis and a supplemental authorization in Art. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Educational Technology from San Diego State University.
Prior to becoming a parent, Kristin taught elementary school in the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District. Currently, she works as an educational consultant, which includes lecturing for SDSU’s School of Teacher Education, providing professional development for inservice teachers, and contributing to projects at the Center for Research in Mathematics and Science Education. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics.
Kristin and her husband are members of the Salk Excellerators, an organization that promotes awareness of the scientific research occurring at San Diego’s Salk Institute. The family is actively involved with ChildFund International, an organization that assists vulnerable children living in poverty.
Kristin is serving her second term as an elected member of the school board. She is currently serving as the Board Clerk and alternates with other members as Board Liaison to the Del Mar Schools Education Foundation (DMSEF).
