Teaching experience:

This is my eighth year as science teacher at Ashley Falls.  I am very excited to be back! I taught at Ashley Falls from 2011-2018 before taking last year off to be with my family. Previous science teaching experience includes 8th grade at Valley Middle School in Carlsbad, tutoring Anatomy and Physiology at Mira Costa Community College, and teaching Intro to Biology at the University of Phoenix.  I've also taught English as a Second Language (3 years) and Spanish (4 years) in the Chicagoland area.

I have a BA from Indiana University and a Master's in the Art of Teaching from National Louis University.

I'm from Chicago, IL.  I moved to California from Chicago in 2007.  I'm married and have three daughters. In my free time I enjoy reading and writing, playing guitar, and biking.

What To Expect From the Ashley Falls Science Lab:

Lots of hands-on science activities based on the Next Generation Science Standards. If you are unfamiliar please read more about them here. All Ashley Falls students will have their own science notebook to develop the science and engineering practices, connect concepts, and build content knowledge. Every class comes to science once a week.
The science lab is now located in the courtyard near the garden. Please stop by and say hello!
