Ms. Luce has over 25 years of teaching experience; 16 years with the DMUSD. Ms. Luce received her Bachelor’s Degree from Stanford University in studio art and art history. She continued studying art education through the UCLA Graduate School of Education, where she received her teaching credentials.  Ms. Luce is a practicing artist as well as a teacher and has shown her large, abstract, colorful paintings around the nation and has many paintings in private collections.

    Ms. Luce is a part of the STEAM+ program in Del Mar providing Art instruction to all K-6grade students at Ocean Air.  She teaches art history, art techniques, STEAM+ connections, art relating to architecture with focus on geometry and math, art and literacy connections, how symbols tell stories, how artists record change, and artists’ interpretation of our environment.  She teaches a standard art based curriculum to all the students at Ocean Air through experiences with clay, paper mache, sculpture, drawing, painting, construction, design, collage and printing.


    Leadership experience of Ms.Luce includes being a STEAM+ Committee Representative, Site Council Representative for three years, Principal Advisory Council representative for six years, Student Council adviser role, art clubs director, science teacher for three years in the district, CERT trained volunteer, Art Show Director and Reflections judge.
