    Cindy Monaghan, M.A., CCC-SLP
    Speech-Language Pathologist

Cindy earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Speech Pathology and Audiology at San Diego State University.  These degrees provided Cindy with the education and training required to practice speech pathology in a medical or clinical setting. Commensurate with her Master's degree, she acquired her Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential, which prepared her to provide speech and language services in an educational setting.

Her first 15 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist were spent working in local San Diego hospitals serving preschoolers and adults with communication needs. Additionally, she was on staff at San Diego State University supervising students in the field of Speech Pathology. In 1997, Cindy made a career shift to the public schools, where she has been working exclusively with preschool aged children.

Cindy holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She maintains her ASHA certification and her Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential by continually updating her knowledge in the field of speech-language pathology through continuing education coursework. Her professional expectations are to utilize state of the art and evidence based practices to educate her students.

Cindy is educated and has experience in the areas of speech sound production, cleft/lip and palate, voice disorders, early childhood language development, and stuttering. She has additional training in Pivotal Response Training (PRT), music therapy, Floortime, social thinking, the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), augmentative communication, TEACCH, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). With this training, Cindy pairs the technique or techniques, which best fit each individual student with their needs.
