    Dear Sycamore Ridge Families,
Earlier this afternoon I virtually met with the Sycamore Ridge staff to let them know that I will be retiring at the end of the school year. With thirty-nine years as a public school educator and a milestone birthday on the near horizon, I made this decision as the new decade unfolded in early January. As the unprecedented event of the Covid-19 pandemic evolved in March, I delayed sharing my personal news so that our focus could stay fixed on our commitment to teach and learn in a new virtual way.
I am enormously proud of our accomplishments at Sycamore Ridge during the time I have served as Principal. Sycamore Ridge staff members are a team of highly competent, caring, and collaborative professionals that are deeply committed to children and families. Working with parents and students, our extraordinary teachers create a school-wide learning environment anchored by a strong academic foundation that embraces students’ strengths, passions, and sense of purpose, and prepares them to serve a broader social, political, and economic community.
You will be receiving information very soon from our Superintendent, Dr. Holly McClurg, regarding the selection of a Principal for Sycamore Ridge School. Please be assured that my commitment to students, teachers, and families is steadfast for the remainder of this school year.
It has been deeply gratifying to serve the children and families of Sycamore Ridge. My heartfelt appreciation for sharing your beautiful and clever children with me and for your kindness and support over the past seven years. I will always treasure the many personal relationships forged with you as we worked together on behalf of your children.
    Peg LaRose, Ed.D.
