Mr. "B" grew up in Schaumburg, Illinois and attended Elizabeth Blackwell Elementary School, Helen Keller Junior H.S., and Schaumburg H.S. After graduating high school, he attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA. Cornell College, a small liberal arts college located in a rural setting in eastern Iowa, was established in 1853. While in college, he double-majored in psychology and theater, and performed, directed, or designed dozens of theater productions. A highlight of his college career was being awarded an internship to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. During his summer there, he worked in a souvenir store and attended 40 hours of classes in business management and Disney philosophy.
He obtained his teaching credential (CLAD) from National University, focusing on cross-cultural education. Over the years, he has attended several additional trainings, including Quantum Learning, and he earned a Certificate of Advanced Training in Gifted Education.
Mr. "B" loves teaching technology, and especially loves Sycamore Ridge! In his free time he loves to paint, travel, spend time with family and friends, spoil his nieces and nephews, and take his 2 dogs (Ellie and Arlo) to the dog park and dog beach. He is also very active and has leadership roles in the Del Mar California Teachers Association (DMCTA), the California Teachers Association (CTA), and the National Education Association (NEA).
