Mrs. Ilkhanipour (Mrs. I) is so excited to be a 5th grade teacher at Del Mar Hills Academy. She has been a member of the Del Mar Union School District family for 12 years and she has loved every minute of it. She is so excited to start her 9th year at the Hills and her 5th year with 5th graders!
Mrs. I is from a small farming community in Missouri. She attended college in Missouri where she received her degrees in education as well as vocal and instrumental music. While in college, she also spent time training as an classical opera singer where she was selected to perform in many operas as well as singing her way through a tour in Europe. Mrs. I also holds credentials in educational administration with additional training in Quantum Learning and CGI Mathematics.
The oldest of 22 grandchildren (9 grands and 13 great grands and another cousin on the way) she has been around and teaching children since the age of 9. Children and the education of children is her passion, not her job, and she couldn't imagine a more perfect place to spread her love for both than the amazing school she is so lucky to be a part of.
Mrs. I spends most of her time at Irish dance competitions as her daughter is a competitive Irish dancer. However, when she finds herself with free time she loves doing yoga, reading crime novels, going to the beach, spending time with her family, watching MIZZOU football (M-I-Z-Z-O-U) Blues hockey, and CARDINAL BASEBALL! GO CARDS!
She is looking forward to an amazing year and can't wait to spend her days with incredible students!
