My name is Liza Zamora and I will be your child’s teacher this school year. I hope to be a supportive figure to your child and family. These years of preschool are the foundational blocks for your child’s life and I am privileged to be a part of it!
I would like to share a little about my background so that you can get a sense of who I am. I graduated from Florida State University (Go NOLES!) in May 1996 with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Special Education. I moved back home to Miami and taught for two years. Then I visited my brother in San Diego in April 1998 and fell in love with everything San Diego had to offer :-) I finished out the school year in Miami and moved out here in August 1998.
This is my 23rd year teaching preschool special education. I worked for San Diego Unified School District for six years, then 11 years with Lemon Grove School District, past two years in Cajon Valley Union School District and my first two years were in Miami. All of my professional teaching experience has been at the preschool special education level.
I will have two assistants in the classroom. As soon as they are assigned I will be sure to share about them with you.
Please know that I am a part of your child’s educational team and communication is key. I will be sending home newsletters and home/school communication logs on a regular basis via your child’s RED folder. Please ensure you look through it every day.
If and when you have any questions, concerns, and accomplishments, please do share with me!
