My name is Liza Zamora and I will be your child’s teacher this school year. I hope to be a supportive figure to your child and family. These years of preschool are the foundational blocks for your child’s life and I am privileged to be a part of it! I would like to share a little about my background so that you can get a sense of who I am.
I graduated from Florida State University (Go NOLES!) in May 1996 with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Special Education. I moved back home to Miami and taught for two years. Then I visited my brother in San Diego in April 1998 and fell in love with everything San Diego had to offer :-) I finished out the school year in Miami and moved out here in August 1998.
This is my 24th year teaching preschool special education. I worked for San Diego Unified School District for six years, then 11 years with Lemon Grove School District, two years in Cajon Valley Union School District and I started with DMUSD in December 2017! All of my professional teaching experience has been at the preschool special education level.
I have two assistants in the classroom, Miss Gloria and Miss Jeanine and they are wonderful!
Please know that I am a part of your child’s educational team and communication is key. I will be posting monthly newsletters and daily photos and video clips to Class Dojo! Please be sure to take a look when you have some time. Doing so with your child will give you access to their school day and experiences!
If and when you have any questions, concerns, and accomplishments, please do get in communication with me!
