• Dear Parents,

We hope this correspondence finds you and your family healthy during this time. Thank you for your patience as we continue to adjust and grow our distance learning plans for our preschool students.

On March 13, 2020, the District, in consultation with San Diego Health and Human Services and the San Diego County Office of Education, determined that it needed to close, beginning on March 16, 2020, to mitigate the potential transmission of COVID-19.  As such, all IEP meetings were postponed.  Consequently, we have been working diligently to determine how to convene virtual IEP meetings for students during the period of school closures that will allow for meaningful participation and privacy.

As you know, your child will be transitioning to kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year.   We are invested in working with you and with your child’s kindergarten school site to ensure your child’s transition is successful.  We want to reassure you that the District is working hard to reschedule and/or hold your child’s transition meeting prior to the end of the 2019-2020 school year.  We will hold transition meetings virtually and will invite representatives from your child’s home school to the meeting.   I have created a video for you that is full of information about what to expect with your child’s kindergarten transition.

If you have specific questions regarding your child’s transition, please reach out to your child’s case manager or to me.

Thank you in advance for your time, patience and understanding.

    Sincerely,
