Assistant Principal's Biography:
Karly Pecorella is excited to begin her 20th year in education as the Assistant Principal of Del Mar Heights. Mrs. Pecorella joins us from the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, where she taught for the last 19 years as an elementary educator in multiple grade levels gaining valuable experience in five different and diverse schools. Throughout her career, she has served as a Master Teacher, Professional Learning Communities Chair, Administrative Intern, and an Administrative Designee. Most recently, Mrs. Pecorella served as the Equity Leadership Team Lead in the California Equity Performance and Improvement Program (CEPIP) leading the team’s critical work to examine instructional practice and ensure educational equity for each and every student.
Mrs. Pecorella is from the San Diego area. She earned her bachelor’s degree from California State University San Marcos, her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University, and her Administrative Credential from the East County Cohort through San Diego State University.
Outside of school, Mrs. Pecorella enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading, baking, and going to the beach.

It is such an honor to serve as the Assistant Principal of Del Mar Heights School. The passion and commitment to student success is evident. We are a dynamic team of dedicated staff, devoted families, and a supportive community that work and collaborate towards a shared vision for our students' success. Our students benefit from our work together academically, socially, and emotionally.
At Del Mar Heights, we are committed to our educational excellence. To ensure that each and every child is successful, we, through the lens of equity, provide a strong academic core curriculum in all subjects. In addition, we provide engaging, innovative experiences, in conjunction with high quality instruction, authentic opportunities to develop critical thinking skills, and of course, provide a warm, safe, and inclusive environment.
As we begin this unique school year together, I want to let you know that I am excited to be working and collaborating with all stakeholders: Del Mar Heights staff, District staff, Board members, families, community members, and, of course, the reason we are all here: the kids.
