Meet Assistant Principal Mrs. Sleet

  • Mrs. Sleet is so grateful to be the Assistant Principal of Torrey Hills Elementary School. She has taught in the Del Mar Union School District for over 22 years with experience in third, fourth, and fifth grade. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Sleet has been a Teacher Leader in the district. She has been a Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) Math Apprentice, a Modern Learning Studio teacher, and an Essential Elements of Instruction (EEI) Lead Teacher. For the past two years, Mrs. Sleet has been the Administrative Designee at Carmel Del Mar Elementary School.

     Mrs. Sleet attended San Diego State University where she earned a Liberal Studies Degree and a Teaching Credential. In 2005, Mrs. Sleet was Reading Teacher of the Year for the Del Mar Union School District.  In 2007, she was the recipient of the KPRI Teachers Make a Difference Award. In 2012, Mrs. Sleet was the Del Mar Hills Teacher of the Year and the Del Mar Union School District Teacher of the Year. In May 2016, Mrs. Sleet completed the Administration Credential Program through the San Diego County of Education.

     When Mrs. Sleet is not a work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her three sons. Her oldest son attends Indiana University where he is studying Sports Management. Her middle son attends Palomar College where he studies film. Her youngest son will be a freshman in High School in the fall. You can often find Mrs. Sleet cheering on her sons at the baseball field or alongside the basketball court.

     Mrs. Sleet has enjoyed being the Assistant Principal of Torrey Hills Elementary School since January 2018.
