    Julie Lerner

This year, Ms. Lerner will begin her 27th year as an educator.  She is thrilled to work in the Del Mar Union School District, and is looking forward to an incredible first year at Carmel Del Mar.  Ms. Lerner has experienced a variety of instructional opportunities throughout her years as service as an educator: she taught in the classroom for eight years at the elementary level; she was a site level staff developer who supported colleagues in the areas of reading/language arts, science, and math; she served as an Assistant Principal at Sage Canyon School; and she has been an Elementary School Principal since the 2007-2008 school year.

Julie received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland (Go Terps!).  She obtained her Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in Elementary Mathematics & Science from Johns Hopkins University.  Julie holds a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential as well as a California Administrative Services Credential.

When not engaged in school related activities, Julie enjoys spending most of her time laughing with and living in the company of her family and friends.  She loves to travel, play softball, spend time on the beach, explore America’s Finest City, host family and friends visiting from the East Coast, and read the Sunday paper from beginning to end.

Julie is very grateful that she gets to spend her days working, learning, playing and laughing alongside the extraordinary staff, students and families at Carmel Del Mar!
