Jessica Morales has been an educator for 18 years and is entering into her fifth year as the Principal at Carmel Del Mar School. Prior to assuming her role as Principal, Mrs. Morales was an Assistant Principal at the elementary and middle school levels in the Carlsbad Unified School District. Before assuming an administrative role, Mrs. Morales was a 3rd, 5th and 6th grade teacher in the Del Mar Union School District for 12 years.
Mrs. Morales graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Sociology and then attended the University of California San Diego to earn a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Mrs. Morales earned an Administrative Services Credential and a Master of Arts in Education from California State University San Marcos. She continues to learn and grow in the field of education through her professional leaning pursuits. Most recently she spent time training at the Harvard School of Education Project Zero Classroom and the Nueva School in San Francisco.
Mrs. Morales leads with a focus on a strong academic core within a culture that supports overall student success and emotional well-being. She invests in innovative practices that yield great results and is passionate about changing the current landscape of education to support and align to the cultural landscape our students will face.
Mrs. Morales is a native Californian who loves spending time with her two children and husband, going to the beach, and enjoying all the amazing opportunities our San Diego community offers.
