Dr. Swanson

Dr. Swanson is a respected veteran of the toy and software industries. She invented, produced and designed award winning products and services for children for over twenty years. After she sold her design firm, she came back to her education roots teaching technology and design to children at Sage Canyon, Del Mar Hills and Ashley Falls. This year Dr. Swanson will serve as Torrey Hills Technology Teacher.

Technology and design thinking provides children an immensely important outlet for exploring their own unique identities. It encourages creativity and expression, and allows students to enhance their education by further developing their individual ingenuity, imagination, and resourcefulness. Technology integrated with classroom teachers projects, along with  STEAM+ specialist classes promotes self-directed learning, creative thinking, motivation, logic thinking, concentration, focus, developing technical skills as well as communication and social skills.
