Measure MM is Successful!

Congratulations and thank you! While provisional votes are continuing to be counted districtwide, I am thrilled to report that Measure MM has received approval from our voters and is expected to pass when the election results are certified on December 6, 2018!

Using funds generated through Measure MM, we plan to fund the reconstruction of our oldest school, Del Mar Heights, construction of our ninth school in East Pacific Highlands Ranch, and major modernization at each of our other seven schools.  Modernization work will include safety and security improvements, updates to classrooms and common learning spaces, necessary upgrades and replacement of aging roofing and HVAC systems, and improvements to play areas and shade.

We are very pleased to have received the support needed to pass Measure MM, and we look forward to sharing our next steps with you.  Our district will be working with Eric Hall and Associates to gather input from our parents, community, and staff members through School Site Team meetings that will help District staff to prioritize work and when it will be completed.  An overview of our process moving forward will be presented at the DMUSD Governing Board of Trustees Meeting on December 12, 2018.

We have outstanding residents who view our schools as the heart of their community.  My sincere appreciation goes out to the many volunteers involved in the election process and our community who supported the vision. I am honored to serve the children, families, and residents here.  Together, we will provide every student the extraordinary school experience in environments that inspire the learning of all!

Sincerely,

Holly McClurg, Ph.D.
