COVID-19 UPDATE, 3/13/2020, 12:45 pm - SCHOOL CLOSURES

Dear DMUSD Community,

In consultation with San Diego Health and Human Services Agency and the San Diego County Office of Education, Del Mar Union School District has ordered all schools to close in order to mitigate the potential transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Schools will be closed and children should stay home. We will remain in close contact with the San Diego County Office of Education and local public health officials throughout the duration of this closure and will provide updates to families as appropriate. The school closure will be in effect through March 27, 2020, unless conditions call for an extension. All programs, including preschool and after school programs, are canceled while schools are closed.

Please be advised at this time, students are not required to complete any schoolwork during the period of school closures. However, in order to minimize the impact to each student’s learning during the closure, the District will provide access to supplemental resources for students to use at home.  Specific times will be announced regarding access to school campuses for the purpose of picking up supplemental resources next week, for those families who are interested.

We will continue to post the most accurate and up-to-date information on our website at www.dmusd.org.

At this time, the Del Mar Union School District Office, located at 11232 El Camino Real, San Diego, 92130, is currently scheduled to remain open.

The health and safety of our students, staff, and community continue to be our highest priority.

Sincerely,
Holly McClurg, Ph.D.
Superintendent
