Advisory Committee
Advisory Committee
The purpose of the advisory committee is to provide ongoing input and feedback about the continuous work in our district related to our diversity, equity and inclusion objective: To ensure every child receives equitable access to a quality education in order to develop their full academic potential and prepare children and adults to thrive in a diverse society.
The committee includes a variety of perspectives and representatives across our district including the principal, two to three staff members, and one parent/guardian from each of our nine school sites. Committee members discuss district-wide efforts and support consistent communication of these efforts to individual school communities.
Parent/Guardian Series
Parent/Guardian Series
Each of our school sites hosts two learning sessions for its parent/guardian community yearly. Dates and times will vary depending on the school site. Parent/Guardian sessions help to foster a strong sense of community and provide a window into staff learning and district efforts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. These sessions are facilitated by the school principal alongside staff members who are part of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team. All parents and guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Parent Resources
Parent Resources
The Del Mar Union School District remains committed to creating an inclusive environment where every individual feels safe and valued. While our classrooms serve as safe places for children to express their thoughts and feelings regarding current events and matters centering on diversity, equity and inclusion, we also want to support parents in having such conversations at home. The resources below may be helpful in approaching sensitive or difficult subjects with your child. The connection between our schools and students’ homes will help to ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion become a foundational cultural pillar of DMUSD.
