Holly Superintendent Holly McClurg

Holly McClurg has been with the Del Mar Union School District since 2009. Initially, Holly was the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services, and then assumed the role of Superintendent in 2012. With 36 years of education experience, Holly has served as a district office administrator, principal and teacher in California, Virginia, and Arizona. Holly began her career as a teacher in the Crane School District in Yuma, Arizona and moved to San Diego two years later, at which time she assumed a teaching position in the Dehesa School District in El Cajon, followed by teaching positions in Virginia and Temecula. While her husband was assigned to duties as a Marine Corps officer in Virginia, Holly had the opportunity to teach in Prince William County. Holly served as a principal in the Temecula Valley Unified School District for nine years and then as a director in the San Marcos Unified School District. Holly earned a PhD from the University of California, Riverside, Master of Arts from Point Loma Nazarene University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota. Holly and her husband have one son and reside within the Del Mar School District Community.
