2026-2027 Program Information

Del Mar Union School District is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 Spanish Language Immersion Program (SLIP). The program is a one-way immersion program committed to developing students with high academic achievement, bilingualism and biliteracy, and sociocultural competence who are empowered to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Through high-quality instruction and meaningful learning experiences in Spanish and English, students build confidence, take risks, and develop a learner’s mindset.

We are excited to welcome new students to the Spanish Language Immersion Program at two schools, Del Mar Hills Academy and Ashley Falls School, in the 2026-2027 school year. Students enrolling in kindergarten or entering first grade may apply to participate in the program, regardless of their school of residence. Please note, space is limited in the program for both Kindergarten and Grade 1.

Only families who reside within DMUSD boundaries, regardless of DMUSD school of residence, are eligible to apply to and participate in the program. Interdistrict transfers from outside school districts are not eligible to participate in the Spanish Language Immersion Program.

If you are interested in applying to participate in the Spanish Language Immersion Program beginning in 2026-2027, please email Molly McGregor at mmcgregor@dmusd.org. More information about the program, including answers to common questions, can be found on this page under "Program Information" below.
